LHG PlayFest
PlayFest is LHG’s Annual Student Created Short Play Festival!
PlayFest is a eight month Playwright/Actor Development Program where students spend the first four months learning craft and the last four months working as a team to put on a show.
September 9, 2026- April 28, 2027.
A staged production of will take place top of May. Exact Date and Location TBA.
Enrollment for PlayFest Closes October 15th.
Registration opens April 15th, 2026
Commitment Note:
PlayFest is a full 8 month program where students heavily rely on one another to put up a show. Registering for this program means students are committed to attending the full 8 months. Drop outs are not permitted.
Playwriting
No Experience Necessary! Seasoned Writers Welcome!
Students will spend September-December Learning to and writing their very own short play.
In January they will cast their play using the Acting students in the PlayFest Program and will be guided by LHG Staff on Directing their play for the Staged Production in May.
2026-2027 Playwriting Class Options:
Mondays 4:30-6:00 (8-13years)
Wednesdays 4:00-6:30 (10-16years)
*If a student wishes to participate as both a writer and an actor they may take BOTH Monday and Wednesday. They can not do both writing and acting on the same day.
Acting
No Experience Necessary! Seasoned Actors Welcome!
Students will spend September-December studying various acting techniques.
In January each student will be cast in one of the writers short plays and will rehearse the play to perform in a staged production in May.
